The Utah Outliers Hockey Club would like to invite you to become a volunteer or intern with our organization. We are searching for passionate, hard-working, friendly, and fun people to work with. Our volunteers and interns play vital roles that are paramount to the success of the Utah Outliers. Each volunteer and intern position has flexible hours and can be broken into a fall, winter, summer, spring, or a full calendar year of volunteer/internship opportunity. We work with your schedule.
Volunteers
Volunteers are typically hockey or sports enthusiasts who want to volunteer their skills to help young aspiring athletes chase their dreams and have a better overall experience with the Outliers organization.
Internships
Student interns are those individuals who are looking to gain experience and apply their knowledge and skills in a professional setting. This allows students to explore a particular career path and develop skills that aren't easily gained through classroom learning. These are non-paid internships but can be translated to college credit if college requirements are met. Interns must be pursuing a degree in a related field to receive college credit.
Available Positions and Needs:
GAME DAY OPERATIONS VOLUNTEER OR INTERN 2024-25 SEASON
Responsibilities may include:
- Help with the game-day set up of tables, merchandise, audio, etc.
- Game-day emcee and/or PA announcer
- Curate music playlists for during games
- Manage the audio play of in-game music
- Ticket taker
- Coordinate in-game promotions
- Execution of game-day music
- Statistician
- Broadcaster for live-streaming of games.
- Color commentary broadcaster for live-streaming of games
- Distribution of giveaway items
- Contribute to team’s social media
- Security
- Tear down after the game
- All other duties assigned by the Business Operations Manager.
Graphic Design Internship or Volunteer for the Spring/Fall/Full Season
Responsibilities:
- Development of print and digital collateral for game programs, posters, and pocket schedules
- Assist in creating graphics for print, social media, and website
- Strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
- Creative, self-starter, and ability to follow brand guidelines is a must
- All other duties assigned by Business Operations Manager and other stakeholders
Ticket Sales Internship for the Spring/Fall/Full Season
Responsibilities:
- Sell ticket packages for games
- Run the box office at Acord Ice arena on game days
- Help with incoming phone calls, online ticket orders
- Maintain and keep an accurate record of sales and customer information
- All other duties assigned by the Game Day Operations Manager
Marketing Internship or Volunteer for Spring/Fall/Full Season
Responsibilities:
- Marketing interns will help in coordinating in-game promotions including but not limited to:
- Help create short-term and long-term social media marketing campaigns
- Distribution of giveaway items
- Contribute to team’s social media accounts
- Assist in development and distribution of team’s marketing materials
- Develop market/fan research studies
- Assist in the production of Outliers' website content
- All other duties assigned by the Business Operations Manager
Team Photography Internship 2024-25 Season
Responsibilities:
- Game-day photography, action photography, fan photography, promotional photography, etc.
- Upload final photos to the team website
- Sharing of photos to social media team or direct upload to social accounts as needed
- Photograph all staff and player headshots
- Photograph team at community appearances
- Must be available for most home games during the season
- All other duties assigned by the Business Operations Manager
Media Relations Internship 2024-2025 Season
Responsibilities:
- Provide website content including feature stories on players, game previews, and game recaps along with press releases regarding roster changes and announcements of corporate partnerships
- Send updates about game action on team social media accounts during games
- Must be available for most homes games during 2021-2022 season
- All other duties assigned by the Business Operations Manager
