OUTLIERS STAY HOT, WIN STREAK TO 11

Santa Claus has come and gone, we have turned the calendar from 2016 to 2017 and Friday night when the Outliers take the ice at The Stable in Superior, Colorado Donald Trump will be the 45th President of the United States. But one thing that has not changed, the Utah Outliers keep winning.

What began with a win in Ogden on December 10 has now turned into an 11 game win streak. The Outliers plowed through the Superior Roughriders with 3 wins this past weekend.

Saturday, with their first ever appearance in Provo at the Seven Peaks Arena, the Outliers used 5 third period goals to route the Roughriders 8-2. Dylan Massie led the way with 2 goals and Marcus Rudhage made 25 saves in the win.

Sunday, also in Provo, Hunter Lagrone converted a Bogdon Khvatov pass at the :50 second mark of overtime for the game winner. Brython Preece won his second consecutive start making 16 saves in the 5-4 win.

Back at the Accord Ice Arena for a Monday Matinee, Marcus Rudhage stopped 25 of 27 shots in a 4-2 win. Matt Culot, Austin Tautfest, Jacob Wanstrom and Viktor Tiutchenko scored for the Outliers.

The Outliers are back in action Friday night for the first of three games when they travel to Superior to play the Roughriders.
